Bandırma Public Hospital Awarded with HIMSS EMRAM Stage 6 at HIMSS Turkey
The HIMSS Turkey conference took place March 20 & 21, 2015 at the Titanic Deluxe Belek Hotel in Antalya. The main themes of the conference are public private partnership projects, healthcare IT and mobility, standards in interoperability, patient involvement, personlised medicine and genomics.
Sisoft and Oracle sponsored the event as Platinum Sponsor and Sisoft, having the first 2 Stage 6 hospitals in Turkey, had the 3rd one awarded at the event. Now the target is to have the 1st Stage 7 hospital.
MoH Deputy Undersecretary Suayip BIRINCI, MD, having the keynote on Opening Ceremony, said that “Turkey had a great achievement in the 10 years and I believe that there will be new Stage 6 and even 7 hospitals in the next events.”
H. Stephen Lieber, President and CEO of HIMSS, said: “Turkey is fast becoming a leading figure in Europe in the transformation of health care through information technology. With six new Stage 6 hospitals recognised this year and five identified last year, Turkey now has 11 “flagship” hospitals in terms of EMR adoption. In absolute numbers Turkey now has the third highest share of Stage 6/7 hospitals in Europe trailing only Spain and the Netherlands. This average and the high number of Stage 6 Award recipients brings Turkey in a league with the top EMRAM countries in Europe. I am proud to celebrate this great accomplishment with those who have driven the country to this strong leadership position.”
Oracle Vice-President Gary Barnes talked as a keynote in a session called "Providing the Perfect IT Systems for Today’s Public Private Partnership Projects" with MoH Deputy Undersecretary Dr. Şuayip BİRİNCİ, Healthcare IT General Director Dr. M. Mahir ÜLGÜ and CEO at Helsinki University Hospital Janne Aaltonen.
