The love of nature, turning green from dried and hot soil, in mainland of Ayıntab has enshrined in Ayıntab locals' heart from the first habitation until today. All historical period's trails acted as a witness in the primordial vicinity in Anatolia where the technology and the stone age materials were used for the first time.

Ayıntab which is a beautiful and orderly city throughout history, had been exposed to enemy invasion after the First World War. In that years there were no flowers that had come into blossom in Ayıntab Mountains, while Barak Plain was under enemy invasion, spring hadn't come... Compatriots who discouraged enemies just with a stone and who are in love of country shouted out that “Enemies can only invade our country by killing us!” This mind-blowing national resistance and that unique bravery of Ayıntab evoked admiration all over the earth. Grand National Assembly of Turkey entitled Ayıntap “GAZİ” as a honorary title on February, 8th 1921. Because of arriving of armed forces in Gaziantep on December, 25th 1921, each year we celebrate that date as Liberation of Gaziantep. detail

Ayıntab which dates back to old times and keeps people's life stories, sadnesses, happinesses, loves and proverbial braveries, is a city that never becomes old. Ayıntab is the previous name of Antep. Because of the passages from previous habitations' vaults to the castle, it strengthened city defending. Each vault was for the true owner and not for invaders so the doors was shut in bad eyed invaders' faces. detail
