The institution that was combined in 2005 to the Ministry of Health and named Ankara Etlik Specialization Hospital, was providing services through its experienced and expert staff only on certain branches of service but, in 2008 it merged with Yıldırım Beyazıt Education and Research Hospital, Ankara. The clinics acting as the second step specialist hospital were raised to "Clinical Supervisor" status, almost every clinic was provided with the condition of being "research and education" and capability to provide specialization.
