Ankara Gazi Mustafa Kemal Public Hospital, being Turkey's First and Only Digital Hospital, was rewarded with Jury's Special Award at Health IT Summit


2nd International Health IT Summit was held in Haliç Convention Center between 18-30 March 2013 in Istanbul.


            Sisoft Healthcare Information Systems supported the event as Gold Sponsor. Sisoft presented its web-based software and trend mobile applications in its booths at different locations. “Digital Hospital Platform“ setup within the scope of the event, Sisoft's web-based applications, Patient Monitoring Interface (Sisopmi)
were appraised by health professionals who visited Sisoft's booth.


            The event started with opening speech of Yasin Keleş the President of Health IT Association and followed by Prof. Dr. Sabahattin Aydın Rector of Medipol University and Prof. Dr. Nihat Tosun Undersecretary of Minister of Health

            Yasin Keleş president of Health IT summit and Chairman of the Congress stated that there is a rapid change in health sector and most contribution to this change was provided by Health IT. “We believe there is a new name for this new sector which has been in effect for the last 10 years, it is health IT. I would like to thank all Ministerial Authorities and Private Institutions for their contribution to this development”


            Prof. Dr. Sabahattin Aydın Rector of Medipol University and Honorary President of Congress stated that he observed a new phenomenon which gathered in the center of Health and informatics sector. ”Rapid development in health which has occurred recently was strengthen even more with informatics. In this respect health IT started to emerge as a separate branch”


            Prof. Dr. Nihat Tosun Undersecretary of Minister of Health, stated that we have advanced a long way from the point we were 15 years ago when too few of us had computers and what we achieved today were theories.“In the past, there was insufficient IT infrastructure in villages or remote parts of the cities, however today, we have achieved to provide this service to most parts of our country. He also emphasized that IT companies are rewarded by international rewards which opens the door to carry IT programs and services for foreign countries in near future.


            On second day of the event, Ömer Siso General Manager of Sisoft made a presentation in respect to 'Gazi Mustafa Kemal Public Hospital and Sisoft Paperless Hospital Applications“.  The presentation created great interest among health professionals.


            In “E-Health Applications in Turkey“ panel, professionals stated that Turkey is moving towards such way that Turkey will be a role model for many countries in this regard. Dr. Ünal Hülür Division President of General Directorate of Health Information Systems of Ministry of Health stated that,  it would be better to have a central structure which will eliminate the problems regarding system management and hardware managements of hospitals. “We applied a pilot implementation, integration takes a while however we believe this will be successful when we complete this vision. We started to take action“


            Şimşek Mert System coordinator of Health Information Systems Directorate of Ministry of Health gave information about SBNET application, while Mervan M.Rahmanalı E-Health Coordinator of Health Information Systems mentioned about the future of e-health projects, Health-Net and Family Practice.  



            As part of the event, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Public Hospital was rewarded with Jury's Special Award as with its Digital Hospital Concept. The award was taken by Dr. Hamit Doğan in the name of the institution. In the summit. “Golden Stethoscope“ rewards were given to successful health professionals.
