Ankara Gazi MK Public Hospital is Accredited as Paperless Hospital with Stage 6
HIMSS Europe - World of Health IT was held on May 13th - 15th, 2013 in
Dublin, Ireland. At the event, Ankara Gazi Mustafa Kemal Public Hospital was
accredited with HIMSS Europe Analytics EMRAM Stage 6. As stated on the website;
http://www.ehealthnews.eu/ it
was the first and only Stage 6 hospital in Turkey.
In Awards Dinner Ceremony sponsored by Sisoft, Epic and
TPP in Dublin, Ünal Hülür, MD, Head of e-Health Department at MOH,
received the Award on behalf of MOH and Gazi Hospital from HIMSS Europe
Analytics Director; Uwe Buddrus and Claus Duedal Pedersen, Odense
University Hospital. Unal Hulur expressed his gratefulness to Gazi Hospital
Managers & Directors and also to Sisoft, HIS company for all the efforts performed
during HIMSS AE evaluation process.
Uwe Buddrus stated that they realized better why MOH calls Ankara
Gazi Hospital as Digital & Paperless Hospital by saying "All central EMR
components are from Sisoft and fully integrated. We can testify that the
hospital is highly automated and has reached a very high level of functional
scope and integration of the information systems. Ankara Gazi MKDH has
mandated CPOE use and physician documentation, resulting in virtually all orders
being placed electronically and about 85% of documentation data being captured
in structured format. Most outstanding is their Closed Loop Medication
Administration process, which encompasses a complete set of ePrescribing
Clinical Decision Support interactions, mandated 100% 2nd line validation by
pharmacists, and bedside medication administration documentation in dedicated
iPads in the eMAR on care wards. In two wards, bar code scanning of
patient and medication is live and operational and planned to be rolled out to
the remaining wards. A comprehensive clinical decision support system is
in ongoing implementation, but there are several alerts, pop-ups and protocol
guidance support examples for a number of most frequent diagnosis, e.g. as
demonstrated live and online for diabetes".
Republic of Turkey Dublin Ambassador Necip Egüz honoured Sisoft by
visiting its booth during the
event. |
